CRM Events (secured) 1st year research theme sessions/discussion group All 1st year postgraduate students will participate in a series of Discussion Groups in their first year as part of the CRM Postgraduate programme. Each session is hosted by a Senior Academic in the Centre who provides the research paper(s) to be discussed in the session. The purpose is to encourage you to read widely in the field of Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine, to critically review the published literature and to provide you with the opportunity to interact with peers and senior researchers at the Centre. All 1st and 2nd year students present their resesarch to date with future plans and will receive feedback. Prizes for the best presentations by 1st and 2nd year students will be presented at the CRM annual retreat. 2nd year report and committee meeting Before the end of 2nd year you are required to produce a written progress report, arrange a committee meeting and provide a record of training to date. All reports/meeting records should be uploaded as part of EUCLID student annual review. Copies of all documents also to be issued to the PG Administrator. 2nd year poster presentation Annual event. All 2nd year students present a poster for assessment and feedback. Posters are judged and awarded prizes for the best poster presentations. CRM 3Minute Thesis CRM annual retreat. Students who are at the end of their second year present their thesis project in 3 minutes using just one slide, with a winner selected following audience vote. Students are also encouraged to participate in the University wide competition. University 3Minute Thesis competition 3rd year internal seminar May/June (annually). Students are required to present their work during the Internal Seminar servies (max 30 minutes for talks and Q&A). The presentation will be assessed and students will receive feedback. The top 3 students are invited to present at a centre event, competing for the Wilmut Prize. 3rd year thesis plan During the final year of studies you are required to produce a thesis plan, arrange a final committee meeting and provide a record of training to date. Annual review Formal University annual reviews must be completed online using the EUCLID programme.
